It replaces the factory hammer and sear with precision-matched components that reduce the gap between your first double-action pull and follow-up single-action shots. The result is a predictable, repeatable trigger that works reliably in the high-dust, dry-heat conditions common across Arizona.
For shooters running suppressed pistols in the desert, this kit keeps the factory firing pin in place. Do not use an extended firing pin with this setup. The stock firing pin is required for reliable primer ignition and safe operation with your suppressor attached.
The hammer and sear come with matched engagement surfaces engineered by Apex. No polishing, stoning, or hand-fitting is needed. This is a direct drop-in replacement that installs in minutes with basic tools.
Key performance numbers using the included mainsprings:
- Carry mainspring: Approximately 7 lb. double-action, 5 lb. single-action
- Competition mainspring: Approximately 6 lb. double-action, 4.5 lb. single-action
