The Apex Optic Mount for ACRO/MPS on the FN MRD platform is a direct-fit steel solution built for the specific demands of Arizona desert shooting. If you run a suppressed FN 509 in high-dust, high-heat conditions, this mount eliminates the common failure points found in stacked plate systems.
Built for the Heat and Grit
Machined from a solid billet of steel and finished with a black oxide coating, this mount resists corrosion and stands up to the thermal stress of rapid fire in triple-digit temperatures. The steel construction provides a rigid, repeatable zero that won’t shift under recoil or suppressor blowback—critical when your optic is your primary aiming reference in bright desert light.
Direct Mount, No Stacked Plates
This mount integrates a locking key that interfaces directly with the FN Low Profile Optics Mounting System™ on the factory slide. You do not need an MRD insert or any additional adapter plates. The direct-fit design reduces overall height, keeps your optic closer to the bore axis, and eliminates the tolerance stack-up that can cause zero drift over time.

For the Steiner MPS specifically, we recommend pairing this mount with the Apex Super Clamp to increase the optic’s clamping range for a more secure fit.
Fitment Details
This mount is specifically for FN 509 models equipped with the FN Low Profile Optics Mounting System™. It mounts directly to the slide without modifying the factory surface. The black oxide finish reduces glare and holds up against the abrasive dust common in Arizona conditions.
